Ok, so you can call me a bit of a slacker. I have been so busy with sprucing up and spring cleaning my house these past 2 weeks, its been really crazy at my house. So I am trying to get back into the swing of things here on the book club weekly readings.

For the past year or two I have been following a wonderful book series "The Iron Fey" written by Julie Kagawa. I had finished that series last fall, and have been anxious to start her second series "The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten".

Julie Kagawa is a wonderful author. Her writing is easy to read and flows beautifully from one paragraph to the next. She is one of those authors you can easily find yourself "in the zone" with. Often when I am reading one of her books, I get so engrossed in the book that I loose track of what is going on around me and am almost mentally inserted into the book. I don't even see the words I am reading...only the scenes that play out like a movie in my mind...

The first book in this series is "The Lost Prince", released on October 23rd 2012. I am just now getting to where I can start that new series! YAY!

The Lost Prince
By: Julie Kagawa

Don’t look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase’s unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he’d dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister’s world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myth and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

I have finished the Netherworld. I was a little disappointed in this book. I have found that the series seems to be falling apart as the books continue. What started as a wonderfully written novel, seems to be stretched to its max the further you get into the series.

To give the author the benefit of the doubt, I will read the final book, beginning this week. "Seirs", I am hoping for a big ending. As I have been progressively disappointed in the characters.

I will give a full series review once I finish this final book.

I am also reading Bob Harper's
"Are You Ready: To Take Charge, Loose Wight, Get in Shape and Change Your Life Forever"

Going along with one of my New Year's Goals, I am hoping to find a way to keep my momentum going this year and get on the right path towards healthier living!

I will give a full review of this book once I am finished!

Last week, I didn't get the weekly reading posting up. I have finished books 1 - 3 of the Soul Guardians Series, and am now working on book # 4!

Kara has just defeated Asmodeous and is back on earth. She and David have met back up...

I can not wait to see what happens! I will post more as I go!

This week, I am reading book #2 in the Soul Guardians Series. To Be Fair, I will introduce you to book # 1 as well, since I finished that one on Monday.

I first got this book as a free nook book. I had finished the last book in the series that I had been reading, and was looking for something new. I have a habit of going through the free ebooks in the nook book shop. A lot of times, they will offer the first book in a series for free - an excellent way to test out a new author without paying a lot of money at the risk of being disappointed.

Anyway, I found the Soul Guardians book "Marked". . .

Marked: Soul Guardians # 1
By Kim Richardson

It is about a young girl, named Kara, who dies at a young age, only to become a guardian angel who fights off demons that try to steal the souls of mortals on earth.

I read this book in just a few days, and at at 511 pages, it kept me busy! I was so enthralled with this story because despite the descriptive, it was not quite as "Sci-fi" as I thought it would be. It became a mystery and action thriller as well as a slight budding romance that was doomed from the start.

This book I would put in the genre of Young Adult, Fantasy/Paranormal.

I gave this book a 4 star rating.

CURRENTLY:

I am working on the 2nd book in the series. . .

Elemental: Soul Guardians Book # 2
By Kim Robinson
éééé

Kara is back in this second novel by Kim Robinson. She has earned her mortal life back, and is now faced with a new breed of demon. I am currently on page 161 of 391. The action and mystery behind this sequel has had me begging for free time to read.

So far, I would give this book another 4 star rating....
